We had a great time on our first visit here. Keeping this short bc i could write a novel on all the great things here but i gotta contain my excitement.. Are you a foodie? Do you like to eat food that zings your taste buds and sings to your soul? I do.. Go here, go often, keep them open so I can keep coming back.. I ... randomly saw it on Google maps and had to check out the pork belly and Hawaiian bbq chicken. Everything exceeded our expectations and considering how much we ordered, I expected the bill to be higher. Their house made sauces were to die for, like I need a straw to drink them down but if sauces aren't your thing, everything had amazing flavor without needing to drowning them. I chose to drown them bc I love layering flavor and sweet baby Jesus , the flavor!!! My only regret is that I don't live in Augusta, otherwise, I'd be a weekly regular at this establishment. Shout out to everyone associated here bc y'all are doing amazing work!! I'll be back, even if i have to drive across 5 states to do so!! Oh and get the Luau punch. We were greeted right away. Because we had not been to this restaurant before they were all very helpful by giving us both tpes of menus ( the paper one had pictures of the dishes) and they made recommendations. May even brought out samples for us try on their cucumber kimchi, cabbage kimchi and their luau punch. ... Yeah , totally went with the luau punch! We ordered the Hawaiian plate and two meat. This was our first time in, and we loved it so much! The servers are all so sweet. Haylie was our server, and she was such a delight to talk to! Walking into Hawaiian Style BBQ in Augusta felt like stepping back onto the islands. I was immediately greeted by a warm, friendly mohine who made me feel right at home. Hawaiian music was playing in the background, setting the perfect vibe. I’ve visited Hawaii many times, and I can honestly say this is one of the ... best Hawaiian restaurants I’ve been to on the mainland. Period. Food: They started us off with chicharrón (pork rinds) that were seasoned perfectly—crispy, flavorful, and I’m pretty sure they were made in-house. Absolutely delicious. I paired my meal with their lilikoi party punch (with rum), and it was phenomenal—sweet, tangy, refreshing, and not too strong. For my main plate, I ordered the Hungry Hawaiian lunch plate, which included Korean BBQ short ribs, kalua pork, and Hawaiian BBQ chicken, with rice, mac salad, and kalua cabbage. The portions were enormous—easily enough to feed 3–4 people. I ate half and still had plenty left over. • The kalua pork was tender, juicy, and full of authentic island flavor. • The Korean BBQ short ribs were cut perfectly, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and clearly marinated for at least 24–48 hours. • The BBQ chicken was smoky, juicy, and absolutely spot-on. Service & Ambiance: Service was outstanding—attentive, kind, and welcoming. My server, Shonnalynn, was one of the best servers I’ve had during my entire stay in Augusta. She was attentive, genuine, and truly made me feel at home. That level of care elevated the whole experience. Hats off to the kitchen as well—Ms. Megan, the chef, is one of the better auntie cooks I’ve had the pleasure of tasting from here in Georgia. Her flavors, execution, and authenticity brought me right back to the islands. The atmosphere overall was pure kamaʻāina (family-style comfort), making you feel like you were eating in a Hawaiian home. Extras: For dessert, I tried the banana fritter, deep-fried hopia-style, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with caramel. It was the perfect sweet finish. Another nice touch: the menu also features Filipino dishes, which shows how the owners beautifully blend Hawaiian and Filipino culture into their food. Final Verdict: This is hands-down a must-try spot in Augusta if you’re looking for something beyond southern food.
